Charles
was born in Georgia and raised in Missouri by his grandparents.
Although his writing desire began earlier, it flourished during high
school. He wrote and illustrated a running column while in community
college. Later he received a B.S. in Art Education and a Masters in
School Administration.
His
artwork has earned him numerous awards and is in private collections.
He has also painted murals for a local hospital and two different school
districts. When a former president made his historic visit to Poplar
Bluff, Charles produced President in the Park as a limited edition print to memorialize one very special Labor Day.
Although his artwork has brought him more attention, he also enjoys
writing and illustrating books for children and adults. Charles and his
wife currently live in southeast Missouri where he teaches elementary
art.
